The governorate of Abyan, in southern Yemen, witnessed on Monday, particularly the seam lines, violent confrontations that lasted for long hours between the forces of the Southern Transitional Council on the one hand, and the Muslim Brotherhood of the Hashd militias affiliated with the Sharia on the other hand.

Military sources confirmed that the clashes continued intermittently, as all types of light, medium and heavy weapons were used, and sources reported the mass flight of militia and military groups from Shakra towards Shabwa. While reports indicate that the fate of Abdullah Al-Subaihi is still unknown. An official source in the southern forces reported the capture of prominent leaders of the Brotherhood's militia in battles today.

The southern forces managed to seize 7 crews on the Shuqrah Sheikh Salem road in a tight ambush and captured all the soldiers on board.
