The backup and support forces said that, along with the thunderbolt and southern resistance brigades, the Brotherhood's militia suffered heavy losses in equipment and lives after they responded to an attack in Abyan governorate in southern Yemen.

An official field source in the southern forces recounted the details of the battle, saying that the Brotherhood's militia brought in reinforcements from Marib and Shabwa and then attacked the southern forces ’positions at four o’clock on Monday, from the axes of Wadi Sala in an attempt to circumvent Al-Darjaj, in parallel with a second group’s attempt to advance over an area Sheikh Salem.

He said that the brigade's third support and backup forces and the first counter-terrorism brigade were able to prevent the encroachment of the Brotherhood's militia in Wadi Sella and damage several vehicles, and during the confrontation, dozens of dead, wounded and captured prisoners were attacked.

In the Sheikh Salem area, the brigade's forces summoned 14 thunderbolts, the Brotherhood's militia, to the concrete barriers, and made the vanguard of the thunderbolt by detour and a sudden attack, through which they managed to break the march and rhythm, a military garrison of the militias, and damaged many mechanisms, including tanks and vehicles, in addition to the killing and wounding of dozens of Brotherhood members.

The media department of the support and support brigades quoted the source as saying that the southern forces seized ten military crews with their weapons that the militias left and fled, while dozens of wounded men and dozens of corpses of the Brotherhood arrived at the Lauder and Modia hospitals.

He pointed out that the clashes continued intermittently until early Monday evening, as the southern forces exchanged with the militia for the artillery shelling, amid great fire control by the southern forces.
