A prominent al-Qaeda leader was killed by an American strike in Abyan

A prominent leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization was killed today, Sunday, by a raid by an American drone plane in Al-Arqoub, Abyan Governorate, south of Yemen.
According to local sources, an American drone plane targeted Al-Qaeda leader Saeed Al-Ateeqi Al-Awlaqi in the Arqoub region.
It was noted that Al-Awlaki was killed in the areas of the presence of the forces of the interim President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Earlier on Sunday, eyewitnesses told "Newsyemen" that an unknown reconnaissance plane had flown over the Arqoub Mountains.
They added that Brotherhood militants had launched anti-aircraft in an attempt to shoot down the plane.
