Griffiths calls on Yemeni parties to "steer the country toward reconciliation"

Griffiths expressed his wishes, inspired by the need to achieve peace in Yemen during the holiday, urging the parties to abandon the division
In a message to all Yemenis towards the end of the blessed month of Ramadan, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, expressed his heartfelt wishes that "the spirit of Eid guides us all to achieve sustainable peace and stability for all men, women and children in Yemen."
He hoped the event would "redirect the country toward reconciliation and recovery and pave the way for a better future."
He added: "Today I urge the parties to abandon war and division, and build on points of convergence. I call on them to unite efforts to respond to the Covid-19 outbreak and change course for the benefit of the Yemeni people."
