Al-Mocha, Newsyemen, private:

On Monday, the price of bread in the city of Mokha rose to 35 riyals, up from 20 riyals, an increase of 75 percent.

And workers in the city's bakeries said that the increase is linked to the increase in flour prices, which was witnessed in Mocha and the rest of the other cities during the past week.

Citizens denounced the high prices of bread and flour, as it is the staple food for most families in Mocha and the coastal areas.

They also criticized the decline in bread sizes, criticizing the lack of control over bakeries, which are now producing finger-sized breads.

Food prices in the city of Mocha witnessed an unprecedented rise during the past week, and the rate of increase reached 15 percent.

Traders say that this is linked to the decline in the Yemeni currency against the dollar, as the price of the dollar reached 720 riyals, but citizens blame the absence of censorship, which allowed food traders to manipulate their prices however they wanted.
