An official source in Al-Bayda Governorate revealed unlawful financial royalties imposed by the Houthi militia on transport trucks under the pretext of fighting Corona, after the militia plundered more than half a billion riyals of the Zakat revenues collected.

The director of the Information Office in Al-Bayda Governorate, Aref Al-Omari, said that Houthi militias impose an amount of 70,000 riyals on each locomotive carrying oil goods or derivatives, under the pretext of confronting Corona.

Al-Omari indicated, in posts on his account on Twitter, that this new royalty has nothing to do with the customs imposed by the Houthi militia in maintaining these locomotives in the entry points to their areas of control.

He added that the Houthi militia imposes fees of 200 riyals on citizens at some entrances to Al Bayda to face Corona, including the entrance to the governorate center from the direction of Al-Zahir Directorate.

While Al-Omari said, Houthi militias collected 630 million riyals of Zakat revenue in Al-Bayda governorate, and instead of spending it in the governorate to those who deserved it, the Houthi leaders in Saada looted them, except for 137 million, distributed to the interviewees from the agents and directorates appointed by the militia in Al-Bayda, and a small amount has been communicated to some families to attract media attention.
