The Arab coalition announced, on Tuesday, the implementation of intense air strikes against legitimate targets of the Houthi terrorist militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen.
The coalition said, in a statement, that the air strikes were distributed in the governorates of Sana'a and Imran.
He added that the destructive targets included ballistic missile sites and drones, noting that the operation is in line with international humanitarian law in response to the threat and protection of civilians.
Earlier in the day, the coalition announced the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile and drones launched by the Houthis from Yemen towards southern Saudi Arabia.
A coalition military spokesman, Turki al-Maliki, said that "booby-trapped" planes launched by the Houthis from Yemen towards the Asir region, south of Saudi Arabia, had been intercepted and destroyed.
He added, in a statement, "The coalition forces managed to intercept and shoot down a number of booby-trapped drones launched by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia towards civilian objects in the Asir region." The statement pointed out that "the total of unmanned aircraft that were launched towards the Kingdom, and were shot down and destroyed, amounted to 357 aircraft."
The statement stressed that "the Houthi group intentionally inflicted high levels of harm on civilians using drones carrying explosive materials."
