The UAE Red Crescent provides food aid to 2,500 internally displaced persons in Al-Khokha

The Emirati Red Crescent has provided food aid to the displaced families residing in the yard of the Good Deeds in the coastal city of Al-Khokha in Al-Hodeidah Governorate.

A total of 300 food parcels were distributed, benefiting 2,100 people suffering from a lack of livelihood due to their displacement from their villages, which are controlled by the Houthi militia.

This support comes within the aid plan for the second half of the year 2020, which was launched during the past week in the village of Al-Wa'ra, with the aim of relieving the suffering of the needy citizens, the displaced, the needy families, the children of the martyrs, the orphans, and others.

Fathia Al-Ma’amari, Director of the Human Rights Office in Al-Hodeidah Governorate, said that the UAE Red Crescent is making great efforts to reach the needy groups and is keen to alleviate the suffering caused by the lack of food due to the current conditions experienced by the people of the coast.

Al-Maamari affirmed the rapid response to the humanitarian calls received by the Emirati Red Crescent from the residents of the needy areas and villages, and after them, the Crescent Authority runs these relief convoys that will alleviate the suffering of the people and improve their lives.
