10 deaths and 8 houses destroyed .. Sanaa rain threatens the collapse of its ancient buildings

The continuation of heavy rains in the capital, Sanaa, threatens, for the second consecutive week, the collapse of a large number of citizens ’homes on the heads of their residents, in light of the state of paralysis and total disadvantage experienced by service agencies and institutions, since the coup of the Houthi militia 

During the past few days, hundreds of homeowners and residents in Sanaa directorates observed cracks and water leakage in the walls and roofs of their homes, some of them pushed to the homes of relatives in other residential neighborhoods, while some of the residents of Sanaa resorted to cover the roofs of their homes with (trumpets) which are made covers To cover cargo transported on transport trucks.

 Official sources revealed to (Newsyemen ) the death of 7 people and the injury of others as a result of the collapse of 7 houses in a number of Amanat Al-Asimah directorates during the past few days of the current rainy season.

Special facilities damaged the rain, where 3 people died and 4 others were injured on Monday, 27 July, after the collapse of the Al-Thawra Hotel building, located on Khawlan Street, near the Al-Thawra Hospital building in the capital, Sanaa.

According to local sources and eyewitnesses, the front and middle part of the 4-storey building collapsed on the heads of workers on the first floor of supermarket and buffet workers, and the sources indicated that residents of neighboring houses fled and were displaced to other homes for their relatives.

Last May, 3 houses were destroyed, and dozens of buildings in the ancient city of Sana'a, registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, were damaged, due to heavy rains without any intervention to protect them and restore the landslides.

The Houthi militia announced in the secretariat of the capital, Sanaa, an invitation to citizens to inspect the roofs of their homes and open water drainage channels in it, "because it said that" in order to avoid any incidents of demolition and sudden fall as a result of water defects caused by the cohesion of its foundations. "
