Griffiths ends his consultations in Riyadh on the truce of Yemen

 The United Nations envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, ended his visit to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, which lasted for several days.

A statement issued by the UN envoy’s office said that Griffiths “met during the visit a group of Yemeni and Saudi officials, as part of the ongoing mediation process to agree on a joint declaration between the Yemeni government and Ansar Allah (Houthi militia) to agree on a ceasefire, and a set of humanitarian, economic and appeal measures.  Urgent political process. "

It added, "The discussion also included the need to take urgent steps to neutralize the danger posed by the floating oil reservoir (SAFER)."

The statement indicated that Griffiths met during the visit, Yemeni Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh, and Prime Minister Maeen Abdul-Malik, in addition to his meeting with the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, Muhammad Al Jaber, and a group of Yemeni, Saudi and international officials.
