Al-Hodeidah, NewsYemen:

The United Arab Emirates paid new tons of food to relief the residents of the West Coast, on board an aid ship that arrived, today, Tuesday, at the port of Mocha, west of Taiz Governorate.

The ship carries more than 300 tons of basic foodstuffs, as part of the Emirati aid earmarked for those affected by the torrential torrential torrents that afflicted the western coastal regions in the past few days, instead of the deteriorating economic situation of families as a result of the war waged by the terrorist Houthi militia.

It is expected that approximately 42,000 residents of the liberated areas in Hodeidah will benefit from the aid, especially the districts of Al-Hawak, Al-Hali, Beit Al-Faqih, Al-Duraimi and Al-Tuhayta, which fall within the second aid phase for the year 2020 implemented by the UAE Red Crescent.

This stage was launched with the distribution of 26 tons of integrated foodstuffs in Al-Majlis isolation of Al-Tuhayat District and Al-Mazhar villages of Al-Hawak District.

The first phase of this year included the distribution of 6 thousand food baskets to the camps of the displaced in Al-Khokha, Al-Durayhimi and Al-Tuhaita, and the poor and needy families in the districts of Mawza, Al-Waziya and Al-Mokha in Taiz governorate, and about 44 thousand displaced and destitute people benefited from them.

The UAE has built a humanitarian sea bridge to provide relief to the residents of the West Coast over the past four years and carries the humanitarian arm, the Emirates Red Crescent, to provide relief to the affected people, shelter the displaced, and provide service and development projects in the wake of the Houthi militia’s destruction of state institutions and disrupting the course of life.

During 2018, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority distributed 185,000 food baskets that covered 100 villages, benefiting about 1,295,000 people, while during 2019 AD it distributed about 192,000 food baskets to 140 villages along the western coast, benefiting 1,344,000 people.

During the past four years since the liberation of the West Coast, the Emirates Crescent projects have reached more than 200 projects in the fields of health, education, water, electricity, environment, fisheries, and extension and awareness campaigns.

The UAE aid reflects the steadfast steps pursued by the leadership of the UAE in supporting the Yemeni people in humanity and combating the Houthi rebellion at the same time.
