The joint forces dismantle large mine networks south of Hodeidah

Today, the engineering teams of the joint forces dismantled large networks of mines and missile warheads that the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - planted inside homes, roads and farms, following a comprehensive survey process as part of the ongoing operations that are being carried out to clear mines from different areas in the district of Hays located in the south of Hodeidah governorate in the west of the country.

The engineering teams of the 11th and 7th brigades removed the mines and missile warheads that the Iranian Houthi militia had planted in many areas and villages from which they had previously fled, west of the district of Hais, with the aim of targeting civilians from Hays.

The head of the engineering team of the 11th Giants Brigade, led by Commander Sheikh Mustafa Dobla, said that the field survey operation targeted large areas, villages and farms in the west of the Hays district, from which the Houthi coup militia had fled, after the liberation of the city in February 2018.

Izz al-Din Qaid clarified that the combing operation lasted two consecutive days, during which the 11th and 7th brigades were able to dismantle the networks of mines and dangerous missile warheads, which the Houthi militia planted in homes, main and branch roads and citizen farms, after they received their training at the hands of experts of the terrorist Hezbollah.  Who are in the city of Hodeidah.

Ezz El-Din confirmed that the engineering team has secured all areas, villages, farms, homes and roads after they have been completely cleared, explaining that the Houthi militia is randomly laying mines and improvised explosive devices, and there are hundreds of civilians who died because of them in various regions of the West Coast.

The head of the engineering team assured that they would continue their efforts to remove and dismantle the networks of mines and IEDs in all liberated areas, in order to restore life and protect the lives of civilians.

In turn, the Staff of the Eleventh Brigade, the Giants, said that hundreds of displaced people from the district of Hays exploited their absence after their forcible displacement, to bomb their homes with mines, explosive devices and missile warheads.

Colonel Ayman Marsh Al-Hamili added that the engineering teams in the joint forces made tremendous efforts during Wednesday and Thursday respectively to dismantle the Houthi death networks and facilitate the return of the displaced from the Hays district in the displacement camps in the liberated areas.

Colonel Ayman Marsh said that the militia members plant mines of various shapes. Some of them are handcrafted in the form of rocks if the area is mountainous and coastal in the form of sand blocks, in addition to other known mines of all kinds.

The Iranian Houthi militia deliberately planting mines and improvised explosive devices randomly in the roads, homes and farms from the areas from which they are expelled without regard for civilians, including children, youth, women and the elderly.

The mines of the Iranian Houthi militia caused thousands of casualties among the residents of the Hodeidah governorate, including young men, women, children and the elderly.
