Aden, NewsYemen:

More than 8,000 citizens were displaced during the month of September, against the background of the Houthi military escalation, which is taking place in most areas, especially Marib, in the east of the country, according to the International Organization for Migration.

The spokeswoman for the organization, Olivia Headon, said that the military escalation in Yemen has led to the displacement of more than 8 thousand Yemenis this September, and that the majority of the newly displaced to the city of Marib have not found a place to go.

Headon confirmed that in September, "the escalation in the fighting displaced 8,000 people, and that 80 percent of the newly displaced to Marib had nowhere to go and had to settle in very crowded camps."

She noted that Marib is already crowded with displaced people, and fighting is increasing displacement, and families in overcrowded camps are forced to share cramped spaces.

She expressed her concern, especially with the "outbreak of the new Corona virus."

The Houthi militia has escalated its military operations in the areas around the city of Marib, while it has intensified its missile attacks on the city.
