Sanaa, NewsYemen:

The Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - continues to tamper with the curriculum at the basic and secondary education stages, targeting the younger generation and children and feeding the young minds with backward racist ideas.

Educational sources in Sana'a revealed the intention of leaders described as extremists in the higher bodies of the group to bring about fundamental changes in the size and quality of the textbook, under the name of "the monthly book", amid opposition to another movement within the group that adheres to the opinion of postponing the idea.

Social media activist Iyad Al-Sharabi believes that the Houthi innovation aims to ignore the next generation, indicating that the Houthi plan will mean reducing an academic curriculum from 9 subjects to one book every month, which means - according to Al-Sharabi - the occurrence of an unparalleled educational disaster.

He adds on his Facebook page: "Because the various materials will be shortened, especially the scientific subjects, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, geography and nationalism, in exchange for the intensification of sectarian classes."

He said, "At a time when the world seeks to diversify curricula for students, Al Houthi seeks to shorten education to what it was during the days of the obsolete priestly imamate."
