An oil tanker called "syra" was damaged as a result of an explosion targeting the port of Nashima in Shabwa governorate, on Sunday night.

Shipping sources told (NewsYemen), that two marine mines exploded in the port while the tanker was preparing to load 600,000 barrels of crude oil, causing severe damage to the tanker's water tanks and making it tilt to the left before the ship’s crew intervened and adjusted it to the water balance in the tanks and d take it out of the port.

The sources told (NewsYemen), that the explosion caused damage to the oil pipeline connecting with land, indicating that the tanker left the port with 400,000 barrels of the total quantity it was preparing to load.

The sources added that the Brotherhood authority, which controls the port, arrested all those present in the port at the time of the explosion, and opened an investigation with them before transporting them to another unknown location.
