Al-Awlaqi: The announcement of the new government is soon, despite attempts to delay

A member of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council in Yemen, Salem Al-Awlaqi, said that the announcement of the formation of the new government is soon, after agreement on the mechanism for distributing ministerial portfolios between the north and the south.

Al-Awlaqi said, in an interview with “Erm News,”: “It was agreed upon to merge some ministries, on the mechanism for distributing ministries between north and south, and on most of the names, and it can be said that it is the stage of finalizing the announcement of the new government.”

He pointed out that the agreement was reached “despite the attempts to obstruct and procrastinate, by the Brotherhood, within the legal system.”

Al-Awlaqi explained that “the obstacles are being set up, respectively; With the aim of thwarting the Riyadh agreement, and keeping the situation as it has been for years, there is no beneficiary from this matter except for the Brotherhood, who are making every effort to continue their domination of the legitimate institutions and the Yemeni government, ”as he put it.

He stressed that “the Southern Transitional Council adheres to the utmost restraint regarding what is happening in terms of escalation in the field, or attempts to disrupt the government’s announcement, and the Riyadh Agreement in general,” noting that “the brothers in the Arab coalition are making appreciated efforts to resolve this situation and we hope for their efforts Success".

A member of the transitional presidency stated that: “The government is based on consensus, and success or failure depends on the sincerity of the intentions of the parties forming the government, and their sincerity in starting a new phase, based on improving the standard of living, providing services and stabilizing security.”

He added: “What we are witnessing in terms of escalation on the ground by the Brotherhood in several governorates, and the political escalation against the new government, is an indication of a lack of desire for correction, and of the primacy of the party and ideological agenda over the public good.”

Al-Awlaqi pointed out that both President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and the head of the Transitional Council, Major General Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, are keen to implement the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement, and to achieve security, stability and development in the cities of the south, and "this was evident from their recent meeting, which was more friendly than anything else".
