A new wave of cholera hits Abyan, and Al-Razi is appealing to the official authorities and organizations

Doctors at Al-Razi General Hospital Authority in Jaar city in Abyan governorate warned of a new wave of acute watery diarrhea and cholera, calling on the official authorities to take the necessary measures urgently.

The doctors confirmed that work in the Diarrhea Treatment Department had been resumed, to receive sick cases, and the presence of cholera cases and twenty suspected cases, after it had been closed due to the stopping of organizations' support for the department due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

Dr. Nayef Omar Goel, the medical supervisor at Al-Razi General Hospital Authority and head of the watery diarrhea department, explained to "Newsyemen", that the cases of watery diarrhea are increasing in record numbers and alarming. 

The department receives from 37-40 daily cases of diarrhea, and suspected cholera at a record rate, and the department and the hospital make their own efforts without support from any party mentioned.

He added, "We commend the efforts made by the hospital administration in addressing the cholera epidemic, which we are certain is currently spreading, especially at the beginning of the winter season."

He appealed to the official authorities represented by the Ministry of Public Health, international organizations, and the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Action to supply the medicines and solutions required to confront this epidemic and to open an account balance and incentives for workers who were suspended seven months ago, and we also appeal to them to stand by our side in the face of this epidemic, and Abyan relief from it, especially children and pregnant women.
