The local authority in Al-Maqatara District announced that the traffic movement on "Heija Al-Abed" Road would be stopped from Friday, in order to start maintenance work.
The local authority in the directorate said that the traffic movement from Taiz governorate towards Aden and the rest of the governorates will be via the alternative road for transporting health as Karba.
Meanwhile, engineers and experts advise asphalting Al-Sahi-Karba road to relieve pressure on the main vital corridor, due to its lower slope, and thus the possibility of reducing the risk of traffic accidents and its high efficiency to receive locomotives and large trucks.
The local authority said that the road will be closed until the completion of the maintenance process, and the announcement came after memoranda submitted by the company carrying out maintenance work, requesting to close the road and stop traffic, in order to start maintenance and rehabilitation work.
Traffic accidents that caused the line to be cut off were frequent, which prevents travelers from completing travel and commuting between Taiz and Lahj.
