Aden, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The price of the Yemeni riyal fell against foreign currencies in transactions, on Tuesday, January 12th, recording 792 riyals per dollar in Aden, and 206 riyals for the Saudi riyal.

The riyal had witnessed a relative recovery in the past weeks, after the announcement of the formation of a parity government between the north and the south, and the cessation of clashes in Abyan.

The Exchange Association in Aden decided, on Tuesday, to stop buying and selling foreign currencies after the sharp collapse of the local currency.

In a circular to exchange companies and outlets, the association said that it had been decided to stop all buying and selling of foreign currencies due to the deterioration of the riyal.

It indicated that the decision is based on the directives of the Central Bank of Yemen, Aden, and what is required by the public interest.
