Aden, NewsYemen:

The Emirati academic and professor of political science, Dr.Abdul Khaleq Abdullah, stressed support for the position of the Southern Transitional Council regarding the recent decisions issued by the interim president, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, to appoint a speaker for the Shura Council and a public prosecutor in violation of the constitution, law and the Riyadh Agreement.

Commenting on the STC’s statement, Abdullah said that the council is right and deserves all support for its principled and courageous stance.

Earlier on Sunday evening, the Southern Transitional Council said that the Yemeni presidency's unilateral decisions, issued on Friday, January 15, 2021, “constituted a blatant departure and a dangerous coup for the contents of the Riyadh Agreement, and the process of consensus and partnership between the two parties to the agreement.”

The Council affirmed, in an official statement, that these decisions cannot be dealt with, stressing that appropriate steps will be taken in the event that the decisions taken without prior agreement are not addressed.

He expressed strong condemnation of the repeated attempts aimed at disrupting the process of completing the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, confusing the scene, and thwarting the work of the government of parity between the south and the north emanating from the agreement, including the package of unilateral Yemeni presidential decisions issued on Friday January 15, 2021.

The Southern Transitional Council renewed its commitment to complete the implementation of all provisions of the Riyadh Agreement, calling on the sponsors of the agreement to complete the implementation process.
