The Syndicate of Journalists condemns the Shabwa authority's prosecution of the journalist "Attia" and holds it responsible for his safety

The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate has condemned the prosecution of the Brotherhood authorities in Shabwa governorate, of the journalist Zabin Attia, correspondent of the Yemen Today satellite channel, and her arrest of his son and confiscation of his property.
The Syndicate said, in a statement, that it had received a report from journalist Zabin Attia, who works as a reporter for Al-Yemen Today channel in Shabwa governorate, stating that security forces in the governorate pursued him and detained his 13-year-old son, and later released him after more than 24 hours of arrest. The forces confiscated his car, camera and cell phone, due to his media activities.
The Syndicate expressed its condemnation of this incident and called on the security authorities in the governorate to stop pursuing him and return his property.
The Syndicate also held the security authorities in Shabwa governorate fully responsible for what Zabin Attia or one of his family members may suffer, calling for an end to the harassment of journalists, respect for freedom of opinion and expression, and punishment of the kidnappers of his son.
