Sanaa, NewsYemen:

The Houthi militia, Iran's arm in Yemen, has deepened the suffering of the citizens in the areas under its control by raising the prices of wheat, flour and basic materials.

According to citizens, the price of a bag of wheat rose from 12 thousand riyals to 15 thousand and 500 riyals, stressing that other foodstuffs, including rice and sugar, rose at the same rate.

They indicated that the increase in food prices was a result of the imposition of new fees and levies on basic commodities.

The militias had raised the price of household gas from 3,200 to 4,500 Yemeni riyals, as it earlier approved an unannounced plan to increase its revenues during the new fiscal year.
