Aden, NewsYemen:

The Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, continues the religious mobilization campaign against Marib, using the media and mosque platforms, despite a relative decrease in the frequency of confrontations witnessed by the fighting fronts in the governorate, located east of Sanaa, during the past two days.

The Minister of Information in the government of the Houthi militia, which is not recognized internationally, Dhaifallah al-Shami, considered that “liberating Marib is a religious duty,” as he put it.

Al-Shami said, during an organizational meeting in Sana'a, yesterday, Thursday, that there is no place in Marib for those he described as "takfiris," referring to government forces and the opponents of the Houthi group.

Reuters reported that Washington had put pressure on the Houthis to stop the attack on Marib, during an unannounced meeting that brought together senior US officials with Houthi leaders in the Omani capital, Muscat.

Reuters quoted two informed sources as saying that senior US officials held their first direct meeting with Houthi officials in the Sultanate of Oman and pressed to stop the Marib attack.

Earlier, Muhammad Abdul Salam, the official spokesman for the Houthi group, admitted to meeting with American officials in Muscat, but claimed that he "communicated with them through the Omani side."

However, the Houthi spokesman returned to claim that they consider America "the head of the aggression against Yemen, and we have informed American officials that we will face the aggression and the siege with force."
