Marib, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

A source in the Yemeni Oil Company in Sana'a, which is controlled by the Houthi militia, revealed that the quantities of oil products that are offered on the black market in Sana'a came from the Marib Governorate via the Al-Jawf-Sanaa road.

The source told "NewsYemen" that merchants affiliated with the Islah party smuggle oil derivatives from Marib to Sana'a, taking advantage of the price difference between Marib and Sanaa.

He pointed out that the price difference in oil derivatives between Sanaa and Marib amounts to 13,000 riyals, and the profits are huge, which causes fuel smuggling to flourish.

The price of a petroleum bear 20 liters is 3500 riyals in Marib, and in Sanaa a petroleum bear is sold on the black market 20 liters 16,500 riyals, and a diesel bear is sold at 15600 riyals, with the Houthi militia officially closing government stations and refraining from supplying fuel to private stations.

concerned people called to unify the price of oil derivatives in the liberated areas in Marib and Aden, to prevent the fuel smuggling trade, which brings money to extremist Islamic groups, the Brotherhood and the Houthi militia.

In the temporary capital, Aden, two oil prices were set: 12,000 riyals for private stations, and 10,000 riyals for government stations affiliated with the oil company.

Marib refineries repeat about 10 thousand barrels per day, produced by the oil fields of the Safer Light, which is controlled by the Brotherhood and refrain from supplying sales of oil derivatives to the central bank in Aden.

Smuggling has become an important source of funding for the activities of the Brotherhood militia in the areas it controls, and it is also a form of coordination and understandings between the Houthi groups and the Brotherhood.

A document had revealed that the Minister of Defense, Major General Muhammad al-Maqdashi, issued instructions to the Acting Commander of the Sixth Military Region and Acting Commander of the Third Military Region, to completely prevent any tankers carrying oil derivatives from passing through the Al-Jawf-Sanaa road.
