Marib, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

For the third day in a row, tribal militants continue to cut off fuel supplies to the city of Marib, which has witnessed with it a severe crisis of oil products and long power cuts.

Local sources told NewsYemen that tribal militants in the Al-Erqeen area in Wadi Abidah continue to detain trucks loaded with fuel for the third day to demand the release of a prisoner accused of committing a serious crime.

The sources pointed out that dozens of militants from the Samra family in Wadi Ubaida detained all the trucks loaded with oil products coming from Safer and Mukalla and prevented them from entering the city of Marib, demanding the release of a prisoner from the tribe.

This interruption caused a lack of oil products, an almost total blackout of electricity, in addition to a complete lack of transportation and disruption to the SabaFon communications network.
