The Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - prevented citizens in Sana'a from holding Tarawih prayers at the Al-Firdous Mosque in the Sawan region, north of Sanaa.

Residents living in the area told (NewsYemen) that the Houthi militia this year prevented citizens from holding Tarawih prayers in the mosque, after it had allowed prayers to be held last year on condition that the loudspeakers were turned off.

And it was not satisfied with preventing Tarawih prayers in the mosque, according to the residents of the region, the Houthi militia turned the Al-Firdous Mosque into a council for its members to eat the khat plant (what was said), and to listen to the lectures of the leader of the group, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, which are broadcast daily through loudspeakers after the evening prayer during the nights of Ramadan.

Since the coup of the Houthi militia in September 2014 , and its entry into the capital, Sanaa, it has invaded the Al-Firdous Mosque, looted its buildings, closed Quran memorization centers, and looted the campus and turned it into a commercial mall.
