Violent battles on two fronts in Marib ... and the Houthis are approaching Al-Tala’a Al-Hamra

 On Thursday, the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, launched violent attacks on government forces' positions, on the Al-Zour and Al-Mashjah fronts, west of Marib, during which they took control of new sites, according to tribal sources.

"NewsYemen" sources said that the Houthi militia carried out attacks in more than a dozen groups of combat on the Al-Zour and Al-Mashjah fronts and was able to take control of new sites, amid heavy losses in its ranks.

According to the sources, the army and the tribes are fighting violent battles with the Houthi militia, which managed to reach the "Maher" strategic tip, amid attempts by government forces to retake it.

Sources indicated that there were martyrs and wounded from the army and tribes' forces, during the battles, but their number is not known yet.

The sources said that if the Houthis were able to establish their positions in Tabat Maher, they would be able to reach the "Tala’a Al-Hamra" and cut off all army supply lines and pose a real threat to the city.

Today the militia took control of Tabab Singer, Al-Soud and Harmal, which is the last of the army's positions in Al-Mashjah, while the Ministry of Defense stated on its news website "SepNet" that the fighting continues at the front amid heavy losses in the ranks of the Houthi militia.

It added that the battles that took place during the past hours resulted in the deaths of dozens of Houthi militia members, including one dead or wounded.

 It said that the artillery of the National Army targeted separate locations of the militia and caused great human and material losses, including 3 crews carrying bullets.

Concurrently, the Arab coalition aircraft targeted Houthi reinforcements and gatherings in Al-Mashjah and other locations west of Marib, and the air strikes destroyed 4 armored vehicles and 5 crews carrying reinforcements and killed all those on board.
