Aden, NewsYemen:

The United Nations conducted humanitarian flights to the city of Marib, via Aden International Airport, to face the humanitarian repercussions left by the attack and the Houthi bombing on the city, which includes more than 140 camps for the displaced.

The United Nations spokesman, Farhan Haq, said that the trips were possible thanks to coordination with the Yemeni authorities, and a timetable for the number of trips is being finalized.

Haq added, "Today (Wednesday) the United Nations started regular flights for the humanitarian air services to Marib."

He said the flights, traveling from Djibouti via Aden, would provide life-saving supplies to civilians forced from their homes by "heavy fighting" in oil-rich Marib.

The UN official confirmed that nearly 20,000 people have been displaced due to violence in the region since early February, and dozens of civilians have been killed and injured.
