Aden, NewsYemen:

On Friday, the Omani delegation left the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, to return to Muscat after days of talks with Houthi leaders, amid reports of the delegation's failure to persuade the militia to accept a ceasefire in Yemen.

The Omani delegation held separate meetings with the leader of the Houthis and other leaders of the group, to discuss a UN plan that includes the opening of Sanaa airport and the port of Hodeidah, a comprehensive ceasefire and the start of political negotiations for a comprehensive solution in Yemen.

Members of the delegation did not make any statements to the media, which were present at Sanaa airport, about the results of the talks they held with the Houthis during the past few days.

According to the information, the Houthis met the Omani mediation with "refusal", and focus only on stopping the coalition's flights, and completely opening Sanaa airport and the port of Hodeidah before entering into any comprehensive ceasefire in the country.

And on Friday, the Saudi newspaper, Al-Sharq al-Awsat, said that a Western diplomatic source close to the Yemeni file alluded to “Houthi’s rejection of the Omani mediation,” noting that all the news circulating about the operation of Sana’a Airport and the ongoing preparations for that, are just news being pumped by the Houthis only.

A special delegation from the Omani Royal Court arrived last Saturday, on a first-of-its-kind visit to Sanaa to hold talks with the Houthi militia leadership on a ceasefire and sit at the negotiating table.
