Aden, NewsYemen:

The European Union expressed its deep concern over the continued targeting of innocent civilians by the Houthi militia, and the escalation of the military escalation in the Marib Governorate, eastern Yemen.

The European Union, in the words of one of its officials, said that it is increasingly concerned by new numbers of civilian casualties in the city of Marib, which has been witnessing an ongoing attack for several months by the Houthi group, threatening the lives of hundreds of thousands of local residents.

The Commissioner for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid of the European Commission, Janez Lenarczyk, stressed the need to end this conflict and work to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire to protect civilians and spare them the scourge of war.

He affirmed the European Union's commitment to support efforts to bring peace to Yemen, according to what the official news agency, Saba, reported in its version in Aden and Riyadh.

During his meeting with Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak, "Linarsk" referred to the European Union's support for the legitimate Yemeni government, pointing out in the context the Union's pledge to increase the volume of humanitarian and relief aid provided to Yemen during the coming period.
