With the outbreak of popular protests in Taiz, angry against the scene of corruption and the rampant chaos for years, the authority of the governorate under the control of the Brotherhood rushed to try to absorb this popular anger by talking about an anti-corruption move.
In late May, agent Aref Jamil announced that the files of managers of a number of government offices, including reports for the Central Organization for Control and Accountability, had been referred to the Public Funds Prosecution.
With the failure of this announcement to reduce popular anger against it, the local authority quickly issued arrest warrants against a number of office and general managers in Taiz and assigning others to replace them, including members of the Brotherhood.
The decisions included: the Director General of the Transportation Office / Muhammad Al-Naqib, the Director of the Industry and Trade Office / Ahmed Abdel Karim Al-Mujahid, and the Director General of the Electricity Corporation in Taiz / Aref Ghaleb Abdel Hamid, all three of whom are members of the Brotherhood.
The decisions also included the director of the Zakat Duties Office / Hassan Al-Mujahid, and the Director of the Hygiene Fund / Abdullah Jassar, who is one of the leaders of the Nasserist organization, although there were no reports against them by the apparatus, but the Brotherhood’s authority included them in the arrest decisions in order not to show that corruption is linked to leaders affiliated with the group. , observers see.
However, the position of the leaders covered by the suspension decisions constituted a resounding scandal for the Brotherhood, when the directors of transport, trade and electricity affiliated with it announced their rebellion and rejection of these decisions despite the presence of reports from the Central Organization for Control and Accountability of committing abuses and violations.
On the contrary, the Director of the Cleaning Fund / Abdullah Jassar expressed his respect for the decision to suspend him from the governorate, and the Director of the Zakat Duties Office / Hassan Al-Mujahid did not appear in rebellion against the decision and contented himself with a video statement in which he defended himself, and demanded that the accusations against him of corruption be proven correct.
Following the rebellion of the corrupt Brotherhood leaders, the governor, Nabil Shamsan, directed individual circulars to the general directors of the executive offices and the directors general of the directorates not to deal with them and the official correspondence issued by them, and to consider the official seals in their possession as invalid.
Brotherhood leaders were not satisfied with rejecting the decision, but an official document issued by the governor to the director of security revealed that armed men affiliated with the dismissed director of the Trade and Industry Office stormed the office twice on Tuesday and last Wednesday, and the incident was repeated last Friday.
The director of the dismissed Transport Office, Muhammad al-Naqib, not only rejected the decision, but also threatened the leadership of the local authority that issued the decision to reveal its involvement in corruption cases, threatening to reveal this during a press conference that he intends to hold in the coming days.
In a video interview with one of the Brotherhood's news websites, the captain appeared in a state of convulsion and anger against the decision, as he violently attacked the governor, Aref Jamil, and accused him of lying about referring his file to the Public Prosecution for Funds.
The captain launched a violent attack against the governor, Nabil Shamsan, and ridiculed his decision to stop him while he was on vacation abroad. He also attacked the agent Jamil, who said that he failed to manage the hygiene file, alluding to the existence of great corruption in the hygiene fund that Jamil supervises.
It is noteworthy that the captain invoked his rejection of the decision to stop him by not forming a committee to investigate the accusations against him, which contradicts the fact that he had previously rebelled against the decision to stop him by Governor Nabil Shamsan, which was issued in late July 2019.
At that time, the governor issued a decision to stop the captain and refer him to the Public Prosecution to investigate the abuses in the Finance Office report that were practiced in the transportation office by the captain, but he has continued to perform his duties to this day, relying on the strength of the Brotherhood to which he belongs.
The captain also remained in his position despite the scandal that was later revealed by publishing news about activities under the title of "undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport", based on a forged decision, a scandal that called on the Prime Minister's Office to send a letter to the Attorney General to investigate the matter.
As happened with the rebellion of the first captain, the security forces and the army in Taiz, which is controlled by the Brotherhood, did not take any action today against its rebellion and the rebellion of other Brotherhood leaders and the imposition of dismissal decisions, which observers consider a green light from the group on what they are doing, and an additional confirmation that corruption and chaos in Taiz Mashhad My brothers par excellence, no matter how much the group tries to beautify it.
