Mocha, NewsYemen, private:

Last Sunday morning, Aish Saleh was not interested in what was going on around him, and all his thoughts were focused on answering in a calm and sober manner, the questions of the Holy Quran exam, on the first day of the high school exams in Mocha.

Aish, about 45 years old, wanted to provide a unique experience for his two sons, by returning with them to classes, after they informed him of their desire to drop out of school.

He did not want to use other means to dissuade them from continuing their education, but rather tried to persuade them in a different way, which was to return himself to the classroom.

Aish tells Newsymen that he left classes about 28 years ago, when he was in the first grade of secondary school, and continued to work in many professions until he settled by working on his motorcycle, as the only source of livelihood, despite his regret for leaving education.

He adds, that returning to the classroom continued to fascinate him, and what hindered this was his preoccupation with working to provide food for his seven children.

But the chance that he had again to study was not expected, as he was surprised by the decision of two of his sons, a boy and a girl, to want to leave school three years ago to work and help him provide for the family expenses.

In order to dissuade them from that decision, he tried to offer them another way, expressing his love for education, by returning to the classroom without resorting to other means to force them to do so.

He said that he lost the ability to make any decision at that time, except to return himself to school, to complete the first and second semesters of secondary school, and he is now completing his third academic year with his two sons.

Aish has become a strong source of pride, having provided a unique experience, despite the general feeling of frustration about the deterioration of the educational process in all Yemeni cities.
