Aden, NewsYemen:

The Central Bank of Yemen, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, in Sanaa, banned dealing in the national currency, the 1,000 riyals denomination issued in 2017, in which the serial number begins with the letter (B).

The Houthi Bank directed, in an official memo, to deal only with the denomination of 1000 riyals, issued in the same year (2017), in which the serial number begins with the letter (A).

The bank considered the 1,000 riyals banknotes issued in 2017, whose serial number does not start with the letter (A), as the new edition of the national currency, which was banned from circulation in the Houthi militia-controlled areas.
