STC approves strict measures against those responsible for Wednesday's clashes in Aden

On Thursday, the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council approved taking strict and deterrent measures against those responsible for the clashes that took place in the Sheikh Othman district in the capital, Aden, on Wednesday.

In a meeting chaired by Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, the head of the council, the STC presidency stressed the need to ensure that there is no return to that square that is an intruder on the military and security doctrine of the southern forces.

The authority announced its full support for the procedures of the security committee headed by the governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, noting the importance of continuing the comprehensive security campaign in all parts of the capital, Aden, to establish security and stability.

While the meeting discussed the return of the equal government to the capital, Aden, and the assumption of its responsibilities towards the citizens, according to the understandings reached during the talks with the Saudi capital, Riyadh.


The meeting called on the government to desist from practices and restrictions imposed on some ministries and government departments, stressing the need to enable government members to perform their duties and exercise their legal powers and competencies away from any pressures, and in a manner that contributes to lifting the citizen out of his miserable condition in the southern  liberated governorates. 

The Presidency of the Transitional Council was also briefed on the determinants of the work of international organizations operating in Yemen, which are based in Sana’a, stressing the need to reconsider dealing with these organizations, and rooting their role and movements in the southern governorates, according to the generally accepted conditions, and away from circumvention  or political employment, in a way that enhances the role of the ministries of Planning and International Cooperation, and Social Affairs and Labour.
