Shabwa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The Brotherhood of Yemen, the Islah party, continues to kidnap Shabwa governorate, for the second year in a row, as the militia of the conservative group invaded in August, summer of 2019.

The Brotherhood of Yemen practiced the most heinous crimes against the people of Shabwa, throughout their rule in the governorate, represented in killings, kidnappings, secret prisons, and bringing terrorism back to the fore.

Majed Laros, a Shabwani citizen, criticized the activities of the Culture Office in Shabwa, saying that there are people dying of hunger, ignorance and poverty, and the authority swaying with joy in the closed halls.

Laros added: What the Shabwa authority has reached of fraud and dancing on the wounds of the governorate has not been preceded by anyone.

Schools are closed and hospitals lack the slightest resistance to life and electricity in news, and we are in the era of the alleged development, so how if the wheel of development stops, what will the state of the governorate be like?

Violations

Meanwhile, Al-Islah militia committed several premeditated killings with live bullets and through torture, including Saeed, a merchant Al-Qumaishi, in a demonstration in the town of Azzan, and Bin Habtoor was tortured in a secret prison.

The militia also arrested hundreds of anti-Brotherhood activists, elite soldiers, and media professionals, by interrupting them or raiding their homes.

According to human rights reports, more than 684 people were arrested until last March.

Terrorism with a Brotherhood facade

Observers believe, in this regard, that the Brotherhood wanted to liquidate the Shabwani Elite soldiers, using al-Qaeda's weapon.

At least three soldiers were killed in Shabwa's elite, with assassinations, in Al-Houta and Gol Al-Raydah, after the Islah militia took control of the governorate, which prompted the rest of the soldiers not to leave their homes, while others left for Aden and Hadramout, to avoid liquidation operations.

fake projects

Although the Brotherhood of Yemen announced the establishment of dozens of development projects, but the passage of two years since its signing revealed that it was probably for media consumption, and to improve their image in front of the public, especially since they were at the beginning of the Shabwa rule, and they need popularity.

Electricity was absent from Shabwa for long periods without any improvement.

Activists from the sons of Shabwa enumerated the projects that have not been implemented, the most important of which were the roads, the gas power station, the sewage project for the capital Ataq, the strategic storage project, and others.

Getting rich and looting public money

In parallel, the changes of Shabwa governor, two years later, seemed to be open to corruption.

The people of Shabwa complain about a continuous rise in gasoline prices, as its price reached 15,400 per gallon of 20 liters, amid the wealth of the General Director of the Oil Company in Shabwa, Saleh Al-Kadim, appointed by the Muslim Brotherhood, as he now owns luxury vehicles.

Al-Kadim was criticizing the Shabwa branch of the oil company years ago, while the price of gasoline was 6500, but the company is now ravaged by corruption during his reign, in an unprecedented way, and he even went after critics of his administration in the Public Prosecution.

It does not stop at Kadim’s corruption alone. Corruption has permeated all government departments, including the Information Office, where previously leaked documents showed that the Director of the Information Office was looting millions of riyals, without any real business, except that he belonged to the Brotherhood.
