Sana'a, NewsYemen:

The Houthi militia kidnapped, in the early hours of this morning, the artist Youssef Al-Badji.

The militia surrounded the artist's house at dawn, before leaving early, to be kidnapped immediately and taken to an unknown location.

And the artist's account on Facebook reported that Al-Badji was kidnapped in front of his house by the Houthis, against the background of his "participation in the Art Guests Program."

The artist appeared last night in an art show for Yemen Shabab channel, in which he presented a bouquet of Yemeni songs.

Last week, the militia kidnapped the young artist, Aseel Abu Bakr, after reviving a wedding in Sana'a, to be imprisoned in the militia's Mazbah Security Directorate, and then disappeared in an unknown location.

Before that, the artist Fouad Al-Kebsi was arrested for hours, only to be released later after his musical instruments were confiscated.

Intellectuals and bloggers considered this matter to be an extension of the criminal and terrorist behavior of al-Qaeda and ISIS.

Artists in areas under the control of the Houthi militia are being chased and pursued by the group to prevent them from singing and cheering people up on the grounds that this is “forbidden” at a time when they incite songs, chants and psalms that incite hatred and push for murder and blood.

And the militia implements the same methodology followed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in hunting down artists in Iran as “dissolution”, “forbidden” and “infidelity”, while they analyze and encourage fighting and bloodshed for sectarian racist motives.
