Aden, NewsYemen:

On Sunday, October 3, 2021, the United Nations announced the end of the term of office of the head of its mission to support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), Indian General Abhijit Guha, two years after assuming the mission, without any success.

The United Nations said, in a tweet to it on Twitter, that Lieutenant General "Guha" handed over his duties to his deputy, Ms. Daniela Kroslak, until a new head of the mission was appointed.

The Indian general failed to persuade the Houthi militia to implement the Hodeidah part of the Stockholm Agreement, as the militia continued to violate the ceasefire agreement on the west coast, and also restricted the movement of the UN Monitoring Mission.

In September 2019, Guha was appointed Chairman of the Redeployment Coordination Committee and Head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement, succeeding the Danish Lollesgaard, who served in these two positions from January 31 to July 31, 2019.

On December 13, 2018, the legitimate government and the Houthi militia loyal to Iran signed an agreement under the auspices of the United Nations providing for a cease-fire and redeployment in the ports and the city of Hodeidah, within 21 days of the start of the ceasefire; However, this has stalled so far due to the Houthis' refusal to implement the terms of the agreement, despite the passage of nearly two years and nine months since its signing.
