Aden, NewsYemen:

The United Nations said, on Sunday, that the purchase of food has become impossible for many Yemenis, due to the high prices and the collapse of the local currency.

The World Food Program said, in a tweet on Twitter: "The devaluation of the currency and the rise in food prices made it impossible for many in Yemen to buy basic foodstuffs."

He added: "As a result of the collapse of the currency and the rise in prices, hunger is increasing."

For the eighth year in a row, the war launched by the Houthi militia loyal to Iran in the country has caused one of the worst humanitarian and economic crises in the world, with more than two-thirds of the population in need of aid, according to United Nations estimates.
