Houthi reinforcements to Bayhan and the Giants Brigade are close to cutting a major supply line

Saturday, the Houthi militia sent large military reinforcements to Bayhan, west of Shabwa Governorate (southern Yemen), in conjunction with the intensification of battles and the control of the Giants Brigades over the center of the Usaylan district.
Eyewitnesses told NewsYemen that armed groups and Houthi combat mechanisms, some of them equipped with mortars, reached the city of Al-Alia, the center of the Bayhan district, and moved towards the "Al-Nahr" area near the Nata’ district of Al-Bayda Governorate.
The sources pointed out that the "Al-Nahr" area includes a number of villages on both sides of Wadi Bayhan and extends to the Nata' district in Al-Bayda.
In the context, field sources said that fierce battles took place between the Giants Brigades on the one hand, and the Houthi militia, on the other hand, in the "Lakhider and Al Boom" areas, located in the Usaylan district.
The sources added that the Giants Brigades are advancing towards the general line linking Bayhan to the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa Governorate, to cut off the supply and isolate the Houthi militia in the Safra and Salim regions.
According to the sources, cutting the line will facilitate the control of the Giants' forces over the city of Al-Naqoub, and its transfer to the second of the three Bayhan districts (Al-Alia), noting that the Houthi militia is desperate in the battles.
Earlier today (Saturday), the commander of the Giants Brigades, Brigadier General Abu Zara'a Al Muharrami, announced the success of the first phase of Operation Cyclone of the South with the liberation of Usaylan District in Shabwa Governorate.
On Saturday morning, the Giants forces launched a large-scale military operation against the Houthi militia, in Usaylan, and tightened control over the district center after violent battles.
The southern forces took control of the Al-Akda, Al-Mahkamah, Al-Hajar, Waheed bin Aqil area in the same district, leaving only some Houthi pockets sheltering in the homes of citizens.
In September 2021, forces affiliated with the Brotherhood's Islah Party handed over the three districts of Bayhan to the Houthi militia without a fight, including the Usaylan district, which was recaptured today by the Giants' forces, in addition to the districts of Bayhan and Ain.
