Aden, NewsYemen, special:

The American expert on national security and radical movements, Irina Zuckerman, said that the military operation against the Houthi militia in Shabwa has been more successful after the Islamists (the Islah Party, the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood) lost control of the province and removed them from the scene completely.

The American expert added, in an interview with "Newsyemen", that the southern forces have high motivations against the Houthis, and even more so when any obstacles made by the saboteurs from the Islah party are removed.

indicated that the Arab coalition entrusted the southern forces to carry out a major operation to expel the Houthis, only a few days after dismissing the pro-reform governor of Shabwa because of his accusation of corruption, mismanagement and nepotism.

Zuckerman stressed that, looking at the series of events, it is clear that those who were apprehensive about the Islah party in Yemen were right.  The Muslim Brotherhood, despite its claims to support the Arab coalition, has a long history of supporting the Houthis.

And she continued: First, the Muslim Brotherhood originally provided important historical support for Khomeini's revolution in Yemen, and since then they have cooperated with Iran and its proxies on many issues.

The American expert went on to say: The ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood is very similar to the ideology of the Houthis, ISIS, and other radical groups: it is exclusivist, authoritarian and believes in the necessity of eliminating entire groups of people on the basis of their religious affiliation.

And Zuckerman pointed out, in the context of her interview with "Newsyemen", that in recent weeks, high-ranking officials of the Islah party began using their horns in the Middle East and Europe to publicly support the Arab coalition, in an attempt to maintain and expand its strength and support.

However, she added: But no one should be deceived.  Their (i.e., the Brotherhood) has a higher interest in eliminating Yemenis who do not belong to them, and preventing further political damage in the form of their expulsion from the Yemeni government by President Hadi.
