A senior analyst with the International Crisis Group said, "The new allied forces (the forces affiliated with the Presidential Command Council) against the Houthi militia can continue a "coordinated multi-front campaign against the rebels."

If the push for peace does not produce results, the new anti-Houthi coalition forces can continue a coordinated multi-front campaign against the rebels, provided the council's diverse forces are cohesive," Peter Salisbury, an analyst with the International Crisis Group, told AFP.

"They (the Presidential Command Council) have the ability to pursue peace more fiercely and continue the war more fiercely, and the most likely outcome is that they achieve a little bit of the first and a little bit of the other," Salisbury added.
