Aden, NewsYemen, special:

Legitimacy forces loyal to the Brotherhood and stationed in the Shuqrah district of Abyan governorate are trying to portray themselves as a defender of the republic, order and unity, despite the series of rebellions and the rejection of decisions issued by the previous and current presidency.

A few days ago, these forces announced their rebellion against the directives of the Presidential Leadership Council regarding attending the meetings that were held at the Al-Ma’ashiq Palace in the capital, Aden, as part of efforts to implement the military and security aspect of the Riyadh Agreement.

Military sources stated that the Shaqrah forces command in the Abyan axis rejected an invitation from a member of the Leadership Council, Abdul Rahman Al-Maharami, to attend a meeting in Al-Maashiq, and insisted on entering the capital, Aden, with all its forces and equipment, to control it before attending any meeting, in an attempt to provoke the southern forces stationed in the area.  Sheikh Abdullah Abyan, which fought violent confrontations earlier with the Brotherhood's army and prevented it from advancing towards Abyan.

This refusal, according to military experts, is considered a rebellion against the Presidential Command Council as it is the authority responsible for running the country politically, security and militarily, pointing out that those forces that are supposed to follow legitimacy are trying to make of themselves a state within the state, which is the same method used by the Houthi militias in Sana'a.

The rebellion of Shuqrah forces did not stop there, but went beyond that by declaring without any legal basis their rejection of the decision of the commander of the Fourth Military Region, Major General Fadl Hassan, regarding assigning a commander to the 39th Armored Brigade, to succeed Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Subaihi, who passed away weeks ago after a struggle with illness.

The rebellion of the Brotherhood forces in Shakra is not the first. Rather, it had previously rebelled against directives issued by former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, in his capacity as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, regarding the withdrawal from Shuqrah in the context of implementing the military aspect of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, and these forces insisted on remaining in their positions.  He refused Hadi's instructions.

The Brotherhood’s forces in Shuqrah include groups of soldiers and members of military brigades that were expelled from the capital, Aden, during the August 2019 confrontations, following the assassination of the commander of the support and support brigades, Brigadier General Munir al-Yafi’i.
