Aden, NewsYemen:

Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed his country's continued support for international efforts aimed at settling the Yemeni crisis through a broad national dialogue with the participation of all major political forces.

This came in a telegram sent to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, on the occasion of the 22nd of May.

He said, "We expect the normalization of the situation in your country to contribute to the development of constructive Russian-Yemeni cooperation in various fields, and I wish you health and success, and the Yemeni people a speedy return to a peaceful and peaceful life."

Russia - one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - continues through its officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to stress the need for Yemenis to agree among themselves through a comprehensive dialogue, under the auspices of what it called "external players" who said they should facilitate the conditions that allow for a compromise in  their comprehensive conversations.

It is believed that Russia has an influence on the Houthi militias due to its close relationship with Iran, the most prominent supporter and ally of the Houthis. Therefore, the legitimate government is counting on the Russians to create a new pressure channel that will force the Houthis to yield to the growing international calls for peace.

Russia did not object to the UN Security Council resolution designating the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization.

In late March, the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, said that "the Houthis once again demonstrated their terrorist nature by attacking the civilian infrastructure of the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, as well as their lack of a constructive agenda and their focus only on destabilizing the region."

The head of the State Duma committee stressed that "these events confirm the correctness of Russia's support for the UN Security Council resolution recognizing the Ansar Allah movement as terrorist."
