Thursday, June 2, marks the painful anniversary of the martyrdom of the martyr of the press, photographer "Nabil Al-Quaiti", who was martyred in front of his house in the Dar Saad district at the hands of unknown gunmen last year.

Nabil, the most famous photographer in Aden and the South, and the winner of international awards, was known for helping the needy, conveying their suffering, and moving to all governorates to deliver the tragic conditions of citizens.

Two years of the operation that shook Aden, and there is nothing new about its perpetrators, and calls continue to reach the criminals.

 Activists launched the hashtag: (# Al-Quaiti_martyr of treachery_and betrayal) to remind the prominent photographer in the southern square and pressure the security services to play their required role in apprehending the killers and reaching them.

The official spokesman of the Transitional Council, Ali Al-Kathiri, says, "In the presence of the second anniversary of his martyrdom, the noble of the press and the southern media remains alive in the conscience of his people, inspiring the free people walking on his path, victorious for the cause of his homeland. 

While the head of the media center for the Giants Brigades, Aseel al-Saqladi, said: "He made his lens the eye of the truth, so he hurt the corrupt, criminals and terrorists, and because they are cowards and weak, they assassinated him in a treacherous way, and this is the second anniversary of his martyrdom. May God have mercy on the fellow martyr journalist Nabil al-Qaiti, and the eyes of cowards never sleep."

Journalist Saleh Abu Awdal asked, "Where is Nabil? And where are the killers of Nabil Al-Quaiti?" He said, "The terrorists believe that when they hid after the assassination, they escaped by themselves, but the blood of fellow colleague Nabil Al-Qaiti will continue to pursue them and they will receive the deserved punishment in this world and the hereafter."

While journalist Yasser Al-Yafei, editor-in-chief of the "Yaf'a News" website, spoke about the martyr Al-Quaiti, saying: "May God have mercy on you, martyr of the press and humanity, we miss you so much. The people of treachery and betrayal hurt us when they assassinated you, and they let us down from those we expected to be support and help."

He continued.  "It is true that they assassinated you physically, but your legacy and what you gave to the south and humanity will remain a guiding light and an approach for generations. Heroes like you leave, but their deeds and humanity perpetuate them forever."

He concluded.  “May God curse those who supported, planned and carried out your assassination, and may God not bless everyone who betrayed you and failed us.”

As for journalist Amjad Yaslam Sobeih, he tweeted: “On the anniversary of your martyrdom, we, your friends, remember all your noble deeds, martyr. We remember them and we are moving forward on the same path for which you were targeted, the path of freedom, independence and the restoration of the southern state. We pledge to you and we pledge to the martyrs that we will not deviate from that.”  The path."
