The ongoing negotiations between the two military committees that represent the legitimate government led by the Presidential Command Council and the Houthi militias, which took place in the Jordanian capital, Amman, did not witness any final agreements regarding lifting the siege on the city of Taiz and opening the Hawban road, while the information received from the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, Muscat, confirmed The Swedish UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, interviewed Houthi militia negotiators, including members of the Military Committee, led by Major General Yahya Al-Razami, that the issue of lifting the siege on Taiz is still lingering, and that the militias are still insisting on proposals to open alternative routes to the Hawban port.
Sources close to the Houthi militia told NewsYemen: The head of the Houthi military committee, Major General Yahya Al-Razami, repeated during the Muscat meetings the same ideas regarding the proposals to open alternative roads in Taiz, continuing the militias' refusal to respond to the demands to open the Houban port on the pretext that the militias have military and security concerns about opening this port.
According to the sources, the militias deliberately appointed the so-called Major General Yahya Al-Razami, who is responsible for the militia elements that are directly besieging Taiz, and who is directly responsible for managing the siege process and closing the Al-Hawban port, as well as being responsible for managing the elements and the military and security leaders that manage the militias’ authority in the Al-Hawban area. And preventing its resistance or the legitimate national army from continuing the battle to liberate it from the control of the militias, which Al-Razami believes that if the liberation of the city of Taiz is completed to reach Al-Hawban, this will constitute a contributing factor in opening the way to the liberation of Ibb governorate later and the militias losing their advantage in the military, security and administrative presence in Taiz and Ibb.
