Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

It is not strange, nor is it surprising, that the Shura Council in Sanaa departed from its duties and functions for which it was established, to hold a cultural symposium discussing the horrors of the Day of Resurrection and the torment of the Hereafter.  It is also not the first time, and it will not be the last, in light of the continued kidnapping of state institutions in Sanaa and the neighboring governorates by the Iranian arm in Yemen.

The council, which was established under the Yemeni constitution to include in its corridors a constellation of experts and competencies, was assigned the tasks of presenting studies and proposals that help the state in drawing up its national and national strategies in the political, economic, social, military and security fields, it became at the time of the militia a window for the beneficiaries of fawning and hypocrisy, and subject to ridicule and deceit from society and public opinion.

Every month, he receives members of the Houthi Leadership Shura Council and a member of their cultural office, Yahya Abu Awada, to hold such seminars that are out of context, function, tasks, need and logic, such as the seminar “Belief in Books and Messengers is Part of Faith Identity”, “Trust in God”, and other virtual seminars, in which the verses of the Holy Qur’an are fragmented and their meanings are modified according to the political goals of the Houthi militia.

However, the Houthi abuse reached its climax with the outcomes of the “Doomsday” symposium, when the Houthi thinker and cultural leader himself went to try to convince the members of the Shura Council to practice asceticism from their daily and living needs by considering the worldly life as the “farm of the afterlife.”  Fearing God’s torment so that he may reap the fruits of that in Paradise and avoid the torment and hell of the fire that has been prepared for the unaware.”

And in order to awaken these people from the heedlessness of the worldly life, and so that they may win Paradise on the Day of Resurrection, and avoid the torment of the Fire, they have - according to Abu Awada - to hold on to the members of the family of the House, as they are the ship of salvation,” claiming that “the Yemeni people live in the best of their ages and a blessing from God in the shadow of the Qur’anic path and members of the household."

Al-Houthi's fawning here crossed the red lines of cultural mobilization and ideological ideologies from the group's inventory towards societies and employees of state institutions. After two days of this symposium, the Houthi leader and head of the so-called Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, summoned the head of the virtual Shura Council, Muhammad al-Aidarous.

It was remarkable that Al-Mashat reminded Al-Aidarous of the constitutional tasks of the Council, according to the news of the meeting, in which it was mentioned that the activities and programs of the Shura Council were discussed, and what had been accomplished during the last period, as well as the Council’s plans for the new year within the framework of the constitutional tasks entrusted to it.

It was ironic that the Houthi leader, Mahdi Al-Mashat, reminded the former government official and the conference leader, Muhammad Al-Aidarous, of the importance of the Shura Council’s role in presenting visions and perceptions of various national issues, in a remarkable rebuke that can be translated into the language of political comedy: We told you to get out of the conference, and not from the world to discuss afterlife issues.
