Taiz, NewsYemen, special:

Armed attacks against citizens and shop owners increased in the city of Taiz, which is under the authority of the Islah Party (the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen).

On Monday evening, an armed attack on a money exchange shop in Taiz caused significant material damage.

Informed sources said that armed men attacked the "Thawani" Bank, located next to the Agricultural Bank, after Maghrib prayer on Monday.

According to the sources, the two gunmen attacked the bank with a grenade inside the bank and fled towards Sinan’s tour, causing the bank’s walls to be destroyed and burned, and large sums of money in US dollars and Saudi riyals were destroyed, and one of the bank’s employees was injured.

According to the sources, the security authorities were informed, and they moved to the scene of the accident.

As of Wednesday, nothing has happened, as the identity of the attackers has not been revealed, and it is feared that the incident will be added to the registry under an unknown name.

And the registration of security incidents in an unknown name increased, which encouraged armed gangs to commit more crimes, on suspicion that they were linked to leaders and influential people in the military and security authorities.

Armed gangs are widely spread in the city of Taiz, and most security incidents are recorded according to the monthly reports issued by the Taiz Security Department in the neighborhoods of Al-Rawda, Asaifra and Al-Muhajireen.

Armed men set up points at the end of Wadi al-Qadi from the direction of Jabal Jarra and practice extortion and looting of passing citizens. Those who reject the demands of armed gangs are also subjected to death.

Armed men are also deployed in the Sailiya area in the Expatriates neighborhood, and they practice intermittently, looting phones and sums of money for passers-by during the night. Citizens are attacked by armed men.

A week ago, with the increase in incidents of theft and interruption of citizens and the registration of security reports, the Taiz Security Department directed the conduct of security patrols in the Expatriate neighborhood, while ignoring citizens' complaints about armed gangs that spread beyond Asifra station and down Jabal Jarrah.

Al-Rawda neighborhood is one of the main hideouts of armed gangs.

A senior security official says that most of those accused of crimes of murder and armed robbery flee to areas adjacent to the Houthi militia sites in the neighborhoods of Asaifra, Al-Rawda and Kalaba, which constitutes a major obstacle to the security forces, which citizens blame and accuse them of covering up the criminals and murderers at a time when a number of those accused of the murders are released.
