Aden, NewsYemen:

The Islah Party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, announced on Tuesday its rejection of the presidential leadership council’s decision to appoint Major General Hussein al-Aji al-Awadi as governor of al-Jawf, as a replacement for Brotherhood leader Amin al-Akimi, who is accused of handing over the province to the Houthi militia without a fight.

The Brotherhood's Islah Party said, in a statement issued by its branch in Al-Jawf Governorate, that it will not deal with the decisions of the Presidential Leadership Council appointing a governor and commander of the Al-Jawf axis, calling for the return of "Al-Akimi" to Yemen.

The statement spoke of "Al-Akimi" as "Governor of Al-Jawf Governorate" despite the issuance of a republican decision appointing Major General Al-Awadi to the position, which means a clear rebellion against the Presidential Leadership Council.

In its statement, Al-Islah went beyond refusing to dismiss Al-Akimi, as he incited a rebellion against the decisions of the Presidential Leadership Council, while he threatened to resort to violence again, similar to what happened in Shabwa governorate.
