Sana'a, NewsYemen:

Yemeni transport companies have announced the resumption of land flights from Sana'a to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via the Al-Jawf Desert Road.

Safar Touristic Company said, "For the first time in 8 years, (last Tuesday) corresponding to October 11, mass transit buses began crossing from the Al-Jawf desert to the Kingdom."

It added, "It is a good start, God willing."

The desert road takes 6 to 10 hours to reach the Saudi port through Marib and Al-Jawf, instead of about 20 hours through Al-Bayda.

Travelers recounted their suffering in crossing the Al-Jawf Desert, mocking the announcement of the opening of the road as an achievement.

Ali Dahhan commented on the ad, "The road is not good. We arrived exhausted after 6 hours in the desert and we were riding in a modern car. If it was a bus, it would have been more exhausted! May God help the travelers."

Fayez Al-Husseini sarcastically wrote, "A great achievement that benefited the expatriate. Soon, we will return to travel with camels."

Abdullah Al-Masoudi referred to Houthi mine explosions and repeated incidents, saying, "The most dangerous line in the Al-Jawf desert in terms of sand, robbery and problems on the road to death."

Shaya Al-Awadi said, "Now you think it is 6 hours, and you don't think how many expatriates were lost in the middle of the desert, and you don't know how it became on the day of the rain. It is a great suffering for the Yemeni expatriate."

Abu Amjad Al-Wasabi regretted the situation of the passengers, "God helps them to arrive as if you are plowing dust, your bags and your car are all dust, and if it rains, the situation will worsen."

On the other hand, Daris Al-Dahmi believes that "the Sana'a-Al-Jawf-Al-Wadi'a road is very beautiful, shortening the time from 24 hours to only 6 hours, meaning the traveler saves 18 hours of his time."

Suha Abdulrahim shared her experience, "You travel 6 hours or less through Sana'a, Al-Jawf, Marib, Sana'a, Dhamar, Radaa, Al-Bayda, Marib, 24 hours."
