Thwarting a terrorist attack by Al-Qaeda in Ataq

An engineering team specialized in dealing with explosives of the Shabwa Defense Forces managed to defuse two explosive devices that were planted on a main road in the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa governorate, in the southeast of the country.
The sources told NewsYemen that the two explosive devices were locally made and camouflaged in the form of stones, as they were placed by terrorist elements on both sides of the main road connecting the city of Ataq and the Nisab district, explaining that citizens helped the security services to discover the two explosive devices.
The sources indicated that the engineering team of the Shabwa First Defense Brigade recovered the two devices, neutralized them and transported them to a safe place, stressing that the manufacture of the two devices is identical to the same camouflaged explosive devices planted by the Houthi terrorist militia in several Yemeni regions.
